You Gotta Tabata

You Gotta Tabata—Is High Intensity training for everyone? High Intensity training known in the fitness world as “HIT” is sweeping the globe. Research has proven that that high intensity training improves cardiovascular fitness increases lean muscle mass and is an effective weight-loss tool. Tabata is a type of a high intensity training protocol which consists of 8 rounds of 20 seconds of intense workout activity followed by 10 seconds of recovery. As the J’s group fitness director, I often get asked the question is Tabata training for everyone? Absolutely, as long as you keep in mind that you need to be the driver of your own bus. In other words complete the 8 rounds and keep moving at your own personal pace. Train at your own “personal” threshold and keep on keeping on. Looking for some coached Tabata training? Tabata training can be found in many of the J’s group fitness classes—Tabata Jabs-Abs, Spinning, HIT the Water, J Fit Met Con, Dig Deep  and our newest class offering Insanity.
